If you ever asked yourself, “Wouldn’t it be nice if there was an event that actually brought together all marketers on the island?” Marketing Next definitely solved one of your problems on October 16th, 2024! The whole idea behind the event was born out of a hunger for more and a desire to connect the good with the great. A mixed bag of marketers of all stripes created an event that people wanted, challenged norms & cut out the corporate blah blah.
Selling tickets was one thing, but bringing together people thanks to the craziest lineup of speakers was the organizers’ strongest card in the game. Yes, we are talking Meta, Google, LinkedIn, and Microsoft on one stage with the attitude “hold my drink” and proceeding to deliver the most epic presentations and discussions ever. Mixing internationally well-known marketers and local pros gave us the option to attract people with 2 different interests. With a focus on the event organizer’s vision of uniting the Cypriot marketing industry together and creating something positive for the future, focused on corporate professionals as well as newbies and students who do not get this opportunity every day.
Working as a partner with an event that has a unique selling point is a dream for every agency. Starting the process from the awareness stage where you have 0 people interested and 0 connections to spread the word was the most challenging but also the most exciting experience. Building the nonchalant approach to actually cut the corporate blah blah. From the beginning, we started the process with social media ads to spread the word and attract as many people as possible by creating “friendly” ads mostly saying, “Hey strangers, we are here to create something big.”
Moving forward by using multiple ad creatives from scratch to see which ones are working best, we started using all possible selling points we got to get people engaged and attend the event. All campaigns were running simultaneously with almost daily organic content and giveaways combined with out-of-home advertising. In the next stage of the consideration, we pushed through promoting the speakers and the brands attending. After spreading the word, we fully shifted our focus on sales campaigns just 1 month before the event. With online promotion as our primary tool, we concentrated on creating FOMO and a sense of urgency to drive ticket sales.
Marketing Next wasn’t just another event; it was a total game-changer! By bringing together a bunch of awesome marketers, it created a space for everyone to connect, discover, and get inspired. It ditched the boring corporate stuff and focused on real talk and tea. And let’s not forget the epic lineup of speakers which helped us to achieve a sold out event! Overall, Marketing Next was a huge success and a major step forward for the Cyprus marketing scene.
